Project 2
This project considers generative UI tools as systems to evaluate, not solutions to adopt. This project goes through designing multiple interfaces using both AI-generated methods and manual UI design, then analyzes how interface quality varies depending on how the UI is created. The purpose of this project is not to determine if generative tools are “good” or “bad,” but to identify where automated systems fail and where human UI judgment remains crucial.

The first step in this project was in-depth research about AI and Generative AI. We learned about its use and its past and future implications, and formed our own opinions of AI.
Generative AI is a type of artificial intelligence that creates new content from patterns in pre-existing datasets. This could include text, images, music, videos, etc.
E-commerce Page:
The Featured Items shop page for Art in the Alley was chosen because it highlights products and drives sales. The page features unique, artistic merchandise, but the current layout feels visually heavy and slightly overwhelming. While the products themselves are expressive, the page makes it hard for users to shop.

Dashboard Home Screen:
The Portland Malt Shoppe homepage was chosen because it is the first impression users get of the business. While the shop has a strong local name and history for itself and is very popular, the homepage feels outdated and difficult to scan. Important information is present, but it is not clearly organized or visually engaging for users.
Mobile App Primary Screen:
The primary (home) screen of the WeatherBug mobile app was chosen because it is the most frequently used screen. Users rely on it for quick weather information. While the app provides a lot of data, the main screen feels overwhelming and cluttered, making it harder for users to quickly get current conditions.
